Cheryl CHAMBERS
A lifelong resident of Ellis County, Cheryl Chambers has built her career on integrity, transparency, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer funds.
Her journey with the county began in 1992 when she joined the Treasurer’s Office. After serving as Deputy Treasurer for 10 years, Cheryl earned the trust of Ellis County voters in 2010, winning the election for County Treasurer with 65% of the vote. She has proudly served ever since.
With over 50 years of accounting experience and 14 years as County Treasurer, Cheryl oversees millions in county funds annually, ensuring every dollar is managed wisely. As a Certified County Investment Officer, she’s strengthened the county’s financial position through smart, diversified investments and innovative, technology-driven systems.
Guided by her philosophy to “do it right, and do it timely,” Cheryl continues to modernize operations and build a stronger foundation for Ellis County’s financial future.
Outside the office, Cheryl enjoys life in Ellis County with her husband of 38 years, their two children, and two granddaughters.
